Cultivation

In our vision, quality always comes first. Quality in strawberries concerns taste, smell, colour and shape. But everything depends on the freshness with which the product reaches the consumer. This is therefore an important part of our focus: shortening the chain from producer to consumer.
If the chain is shortened, the product can be harvested just a little bit riper, which in turn greatly benefits the taste, smell and colour.

We mainly grow one variety: Elsanta.
This variety is already 10 years market leader and is due to
our sophisticated cultivation method very suitable for
cultivation on our farm. Together we produce over 2 million kg of strawberries per year, mostly in 500 grams of packaging, but all other packaging is possible.
Glass strawberry cultivation is characterised by a very
seasonal work pattern, with harvests accounting for more than 60% of the labour required.

At the peak in April and May, we need 80-100 Dutch and Polish employers to pick the strawberries at the right time. The strawberries are hung at bite height and harvesting
trolleys on a tubular rail system ensure that this work is experienced as very pleasant and harvesters are happy to perform this peak work every year. We also have five permanent employees (including the management).
